Non-Alcoholic Sangria

I’m getting to that point in my life where every party isn’t about drinking. My friends are getting pregnant and others are cutting back. Whatever the reason it’s great to offer variety at your gatherings. This year at the #HunkiedorieHarvestParty I offered two Non-Alcoholic options this NA Sangria and a NA Sparkling Apple Punch (recipe coming soon). The NA Sangria was such a hit with everyone, a couple of my friends were pregnant and my sister doesn’t drink so it was great to have an option for them. I also had some friends inform me that the sangria was a perfect mixer for the beverages they had brought. If I were to make this an alcoholic version I think it would be fun to sub sparkling wine for the water.

Non-Alcoholic Sangria

Ingredients:

  • 4 C. Boiling Water
  • 4 Black Tea Bags (I used the Tazo Berry Trifle Black Tea)
  • 4 Cinnamon Sticks
  • 1/2 C. sugar
  • 7 C. Pomegranate Juice
  • 2 C. Orange Juice (No Pulp)
  • 2 Oranges-sliced
  • 2 lemons-sliced
  • 2 Limes-sliced
  • 2 Green Apple -sliced
  • 1 Grapefruit-sliced
  • 1/2 C. Blackberries
  • 7 C sparkling water

 

Directions:

  1. Boil your water.
  2. Pour the boiling water over tea bags and cinnamon sticks and steep for 8 minutes.
  3. Discard tea bags and stir in sugar to dissolve.
  4. In a large drink dispenser, combine tea, pomegranate juice, orange juice, and fruit.
  5. Refrigerate  overnight.
  6. Just before serving, stir in carbonated water.
  7. Serve and enjoy!
