Charcuterie Table

I know technically Charcuterie is defined as “cold cooked meats collectively” in my world it is the fancy name for what I commonly refer to as an Adult Lunchable. Meat, cheese, fruits, veggies, crackers and sauces; all are welcome in my charcuterie world. In fact, the more the merrier.  This year I added two new features to my #HunkiedorieHarvestParty, a sitting and game area as well as a charcuterie table. Both  these areas were focused on the begining of the party.

When planning my charcuterie the “How to Setup an Epic Charcuterie Table” from almostmakesperfect.com was a HUGE help!  Writer Molly covers everything from purchasing suggestions, and DIY hacks- covering the basics and garnishes. To layout and staging tips- covering prep and accent pieces.

I started by making a list of every ingredient/item I thought would work within my charcuterie table. From there I was able to section these ingredients off into a purchase schedule. This helped spread my budget, I took into consideration what I could buy in advance and store for a couple months and what needed to be purchased the week of the party.

I felt the charcuterie was a great way to allow people to munch and mingle while playing games as everyone slowly trickled in before the dinner really kicked off. Also it was another excuse to use more of my Goodwill crystal that is a staple at all of my meal gatherings. I also took this opportunity to buy a dining room table from my local Goodwill complete with a huge leaf extension. Months before the party I began to collect different serving plates and boards. #HunkiedorieHarvestParty was really just an excuse to buy these, I had been wanting to do this for a long time anyway.

I was so lucky the day of my party to have  my sister and friend Danielle of Minne Pristine & Co.  helping me set up and stage everything. They were able to put together this gorgeous display just moments before the party got underway.
