This is my favorite place in the Twin Cities year round. A little green oasis in the middle of the frozen tundra. Stroll through the steamy green paths of the palm dome and check out the koi ponds or visit the famous sunken garden. This free attraction is a must for anyone looking for a serene escape amidst the sports pandamonium.

MOA can be a one stop shop for tourists. Sea Life Aquariums, The American Girl store and a wide range of shopping are just a few of your options. For true Minnesotans we will always refer to the theme park in our mega mall as Camp Snoopy, but whatever you call it you are sure to have a blast. An absolute must is the log chute, taking riders on an exciting water adventure through a cavernous mountain. You will see Paul Bunyan and his famous blue ox Babe all before ending your journey with a 40 foot drop.

First Avenue

As legendary as our purple Prince, a trip to Minnesota isn’t complete without visiting First Ave and its famous star wall. Find your favorite artist and take a picture with their star or pay homage to a Minnesota music icon. Find Prince’s honored gold star, a well deserved tribute to the artist  after shooting his famed movie “Purple Rain” at this venue.

  1. As a local, I have to say you nailed the highlights of the city! You picked popular spots, but together they capture the culture and heart of the Twin Cities. Do you have any under-the-radar spots you’d recommend? Any food options in the area you love?
